I’m not sure I ever laid eyes on it but I’m pretty sure it was installed and eventually connected to a host.

In the great Telnet bake-off in October 1971, each site tried to connect to each other site.  A big table was filled in at the meeting at MIT.  SDC was distinguished by being the only site whose row and column were empty, ie no one could connect them and they couldn’t connect to anyone.  I believe they came alive shortly after that.
