The IIC is organising a Telecommunications and Media Forum in Bahrain on 
Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 May, at the kind invitation of the 
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. Attached a pdf with some up to 
date information.

The theme of the meeting is convergent communications. It will focus on* 
'Building Digital Broadband for the Future: Market and Policy 
Implications'* and will look at the economic and social impact of ICT 
and the media, the policy implications of building high-speed broadband, 
how broadband adoption and use can be stimulated, and the role of 
regulation and public policy in achieving national broadband aspirations.

The IIC is an independent global body with up-to-the-minute expertise in 
the worlds of broadcasting and telecommunications and we have had the 
benefit of deep association with the major players in the two sectors 
for many years. Every year, we hold a small number of Telecommunications 
and Media Fora around the globe, where leading communications 
organisations come together to discuss major market implications and 
which includes an annual event in Brussels and one in Washington, DC. 
This is the first Middle East meeting of the Forum.

Forum meetings are small, interactive events and by invitation only so 
that we achieve the right mix of expertise present. Numbers are capped 
at fifty or so senior attendees to stimulate debate and the programme is 
put together in close consultation with Forum members which include 
Cisco, Liberty Global, Telkom SA, Wind, Verizon and Telus. Further
