Dear Veni, dear all,
Thanks for reaching out. The Chapter Charter Agreement feedback form has an option that says: “I have specific operational questions or feedback on other sections of the draft not covered by the main themes". This option allows chapters to provide more detailed input on the sections of the proposed text that they would like to comment on. This is how we received a number of very good suggestions, recommendations, questions and concerns that are now being considered for the next iteration of the draft text. Please don’t hesitate to ping me, Ruben on my team, or Flávio Wagner, the Chapters Advisory Council Steering Committee Chair, if there is anything we can help with in that regard.
We will now, based on the feedback received so far, work on the next iteration of the draft Chapter Charter Agreement. Once this is ready, the proposed text will then go through another, final, round of community consultation. This will allow all chapters that would like to provide additional input to do so.
This work is done in close collaboration with the Chapters Advisory Council Steering Committee and we will discuss how to best share the feedback received throughout the process, including how it was addressed.
Your input is critical as we want to ensure we have a very strong shared agreement.
Best,
Christine

We almost missed that.
Among the proposed changes, there are texts that have been proposed in the pasts, and have failed in one time or another.
Furthermore, the proposed "draft feedback" is limited to preliminary populated answers, which do not necessarily cover all situations. Even more they tend to propose that the chapters have no choice, but to accept the proposed changes.
We don't believe that some of the changes are needed. ISOC tends to bring to the chapter different requirements every few years, and we change by-laws (where applicable), register the new by-laws in court, etc. (all this costs money!).
All proposed changes are made to follow a US-based NGO space, where they make sense, but they do not take into account the cross-cultural differences.
The fact that such changes have slipped through the cracks of our (ISOC-Bulgaria) attention is something that we would be addressing at our next Board meeting, but we see potential problems in implementing some of these requirements, if they are obligatory for each chapter.
best,
v/

Please coordinate with your Chapters' Advisory Council (ChAC) representative and submit one consolidated response for your chapter by 15 September. Thank you to those chapters who have already submitted feedback.
