Hi, Andrew and everyone.
Folks, in case you haven't seen it:
The Internet Society along with Canadian Internet policy & tech
professionals write to the govt of Canada
@JustinTrudeau <https://twitter.com/JustinTrudeau>
to call for an end to its overreaching regulatory policies that will
profoundly harm the free and open

The tweet leads to this open letter, published on the ISOC website:
https://www.internetsociety.org/open-letters/open-letter-to-government-of-canada/

Andrew,
I tried to find a link from the ISOC main page to the open letter, but I
couldn't, which is strange, esp. the tweet says that ISOC has written to
the government of Canada, but your name is not among the people, who
have signed it? How is ISOC writing to the government, without the
signature from the President&CEO? I also checked this page, which has a
publication from yesterday, but not mentioning the letter:
https://www.internetsociety.org/blog/2021/05/the-week-in-internet-news-u-s-rolls-out-broadband-subsidy/

In any case, this is a detail, but I wanted to ask if that means ISOC
would be willing to support other such efforts in situations, where a
separate country may face some issues, related to the Internet? I
remember few years ago, when we had an issue with the Internet
regulation in Bulgaria, ISOC wasn't willing to support us as an
organization (though we got support from individual Trustees and the
CEO). We solved the problem back then by suing the government in the
Supreme Administrative Court and winning the case.

In conclusion, publishing such an open letter on the official web site,
with a link from the main page, would be a clear sign for support, IMHO,
and that would be good in some cases, if that means you will be
supporting them as well.
