Dear Chapter Delegates,

I am honoured to be standing in this year’s Chapter Advisory Council
Steering Committee Elections and hope that you will consider voting for me.

I have served as the San Francisco Bay Area Internet Society Chapter
President since 2016. Further, as a strategic communications expert with
a background in Internet governance and multi-stakeholder,
community-driven processes, I have spent the last 15 years promoting and
protecting the concept of an open, inclusive and sustainable Internet as
part of the Internet technical community.

Currently based in the US, I grew up in the UK/Europe and have worked
with Internet industry organisations across Europe, the US, Africa and
Asia Pacific, which has given me an in-depth understanding of the global
Internet ecosystem and the issues faced by Internet users around the world.

With a new CEO on board, we can expect to see changes to the Internet
Society over the coming months. With a direct link to the Board of
Trustees and to the CEO, the CHAC Steering Committee is in a unique
position to guide some of these changes. It is therefore imperative that
all Chapters make their ideas and concerns heard so that the Chapters’
needs are taken into consideration as the Internet Society evolves.

To ensure that this happens, I believe it is necessary to improve
communication methods at all levels of the organisation and to
facilitate more dialogue between the Chapters, the CHAC Steering
Committee and the Board of Trustees/CEO. As part of the CHAC Steering
Committee, I look forward to embracing the bottom-up ethos of the
Internet Society by representing all Chapters and bringing the matters
that concern them the most to the fore.
