APRALO, during its internal due diligence process at the time ISC's
application was processed a few months back, had inquired about the name
(among other things).
The response we got was that the similarity in name was a historical
coincidence rather than any wilful attempt to appropriate the ISOC name or
goodwill. At that time, we chose to go ahead in good faith, and not make an
issue of this (noting also that ICANN as well other IG institutions had
partnered with ISC for different programs in the past).
