*Dear Olga and friends:*

Thank you for this question. Ecuador is one of the most successfull
chapters working on community initiatives using the resources we have
available from ISOC HQ.

Our 3 emblematic projects using the grant from ISOC are:

1. Digital inclusion for indigenous people using material in Quichua
language (indigenous language). More than 500 people from a dozen of rural
communities were benefit from this project "Internet manual for digital
inclusion in plain Quichua". We work with near 20 volunteers on this
project.

2. "Secure in the Net" a project to put parents and childs, together
working to be secure on the net. 11 schools and more than 1200 people
received conferences and shared best practices on how to maintain a safe
Internet. 15 volunteers traveled all around the country visiting schools,
and working with kids, their parents and teachers.

3. "New Generation Leaders" a replica project based on the New Generation
Leaders project from ISOC. 50+ volunteers reinforce our chapter from this
project. 7 of them has already traveled to ISOC, Icann and IGF thanks to
this project and when come back, they helped with capacity building. Also
we have some participants from this project in the IGF South School running
by Olga.

Among this, we also run several small grants projects to reinforce the
chapter's works, creating 4 regions in our chapter for a descentralized
work in a real bottom up process. We also use several small grants for
national IGF events in preparation for the international IGF events.

We believe in what we have inside ISOC, used the available resources, and
working with our people making every day new leaders and new projects.

We have the experience to help other chapters, from the ChAC and promote a
broad consensus on Chapters participation in the decision making process
and organization of ISOC.

Best

Carlos Vera

Estimada Olga y amigos:

Saludos

Carlos Vera
