[Chapter-delegates] Creating a good momentum

Raúl and all
Although I've been an ISOC Member since 2009, my Chapter was founded just
over a year back. Our experience may not therefore be typical.

The support that we received so far--both financial and non-financial--has
been overwhelmingly positive. The initial process of setting up the
Chapter, which took a few months, was supported very well by Staff as well
as leaders like Gihan. We were funded readily for our modest Chapter
requirements ($3500) and for a specific event this year. We have also
positive initial feedback for our India IG School proposal (largely
in-kind, for travel of ISOC leaders as guest speakers). The Asia Pacific
Chapter leaders' meet in 2015 was well-organized and useful in planning our
programmes. Overall, we find the ISOC Ecosystem to be responsive,
supportive and sufficient for our needs at this time.

We do understand that different chapters are in different stages of their
life-cycle, and funding (and non-funding) requirements need to cater to
everyone's needs.

We look forward to support from the Chapter Advisory Council, particularly
in terms of framing policy that will nurture Chapters and provide them with
leadership on critical areas of ISOC's engagement. We also hope that the
CAC can address Chapter-level issues including burn-out of senior Chapter
leaders.

Looking forward to a meaningful engagement with the CAC,

satish
