To All Chapter Delegates
In our on-going effort to inform on the importance of online identity and data privacy, TID, IL, and Comms has launched on Monday (28 January) an online Identity training module suite in conjunction with Data Privacy Day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Privacy_Day).
This product suite represents a new initiative to take the important work that Lucy Lynch and her team have been leading in Trust & Identity to a broad set of Internet communities. The suite includes three modules that will be launched externally through various social media channels, a blog, and other activities that will be tracked and measured. In addition, our Kolkata Chapter in India will also be the beta test for feedback to ensure we are providing value to our Chapter community. For your reference, the project objectives are summarized below:
Broaden end-user knowledge and awareness of privacy/digital footprint topics.
Enable end-users to better understand the “personal data” bargain thus encouraging greater transparency among parties in online transactions
Extend a portfolio of tools, positions, and resources so RBDs, Chapters, and members can more broadly reach our communities
Increase awareness of Internet Society, the important work in which we regularly engage, and partnership opportunities to broader communities.
Our landing page for this effort is located at www.internetsociety.org/manageyouridentity and includes the links to the modules themselves so you can share this information with all our online communities.
You are the Internet Society and this work represents the latest step leveraging our partnership with industry experts, academia, ISOC members, and chapters for this critical issue. Please help contribute to the buzz and outreach to assure this effort reaches and resonates with the broadest audience possible.
A very special thanks to Robin Wilton for all of his subject matter expertise over the past 9 months in working directly with Vyria Paselk of the Internet Leadership Team in creating and refining the materials, Kathy Sebuck and the Comms launch team in developing the go-to-market strategy, and to Vyria in her role in leading the development and design of the materials.
Thanks in advance for your support of this launch and please direct any program specific questions to Vyria Paselk.
