Hi Marcin,

The Conseil National du Numérique or CNN (National digital council),
is a French advisory committee created on April 29, 2011 following the
decree n° 2011-476. It has been modified by decree n°2012-1400 on
December 13, 2012. The CNN is in charge of counselling the French
public authorities on the stakes of the digital development, and of
creating an ongoing discussion process between the government and the
Web players. The council is consulted on the creation of any law that
concerns or impacts the Information Technology market at large.

The old CNN, created by Nicolas Sarkozy, gathered 18 volunteer members
only from private companies without any representative of Internet
users.

The new CNN gathers 30 volunteer members (15 men + 15 women), all
involved in telecommunications, the Internet, software, research,
end-user and civil society. Volunteer members are nominated through a
decree issued by a Council of Ministers for a period of 3 years,
renewable. The President is selected by the members of the Conseil,
for a 3-year period.

Best regards,
Matthieu
