Today, in the magazine OneMagazine of the biggest Belgian telco provider BELGACOM, was published a column on request by the provider on IPv6.
The article is publised in English. An extract follows, for those interested in seeing this article online.

From IPv4 to IPv6
Necessary evil or business opportunity?
Particularly in Asia and the Middle East, the switch to IPv6 is already well underway. If European companies, governments and organizations do not make their websites compatible for IPv6, they will be excluding a large group of users. And communication by e-mail will also become problematic. So the switch is, therefore, a necessary evil. But the implementation of IPv6 – in addition to the existing IPv4 – can also be an extra asset. After all: anyone who can communicate with Asia has access to a couple of billion potential users and customers. That’s quite an appealing prospect in a period of economic recession and saturated European markets.
On the Internet Society’s World IPv6 Launch Day on 6 June 2012, millions of users will need to be able to definitively connect via IPv6. On that day, large players such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft’s Bing will formally make the switch to IPv6. In order to give all citizens access to both IPv4 and IPv6 communication, it is therefore necessary for our providers to make the switch as well. Rolling out IPv6 can no longer be delayed. The many advantages of IPv6 for companies need to be a trigger for them to take that step. A few advantages: auto-configuration improves manageability and reduces the network administration costs; integrated support for mobility; the IPSec standard increases system security … IPv6 also has an auto-configuration function which makes the complex configuration of IPv4 a thing of the past, now that the number of mobile devices is entering an explosive phase of growth. The main advantage, however, is the unlimited number of addresses and the better security. That lets companies protect themselves even better against bothersome intrusions and hacking. With the necessary investment, any company, organization or government can take advantage of this technology.
