Hi,

With just a few days to go until 6 June, I wanted to provide a quick update on World IPv6 Launch.

Participation in World IPv6 Launch has been amazing. More than 2000 websites, ISPs, and home router vendors from more than 100 countries have signed up to participate. These include the top four websites globally, many leading websites in regions and countries, and over 50 Internet access providers in more than 20 countries. We are poised to see the needle move significantly on IPv6 deployment and use.

The response from Internet Society Chapters has been equally astounding. More the 25 Chapters have indicated they are holding events in conjunction with World IPv6 Launch. Congratulations to you, and best wishes for a successful event! And, other members of the Internet community are likewise lending their voices to make World IPv6 Launch a memorable occasion; a list of regional events can be found under "Regional Resources" on the World IPv6 Launch website.

World IPv6 Launch has already garnered significant media attention, and we expect to exceed the total coverage of World IPv6 Day last year. Already, 146 articles have been posted on World IPv6 Launch. Of these articles, 95 are original stories, and 51 are pickups of original stories. In 2011, 250 total articles were posted on World IPv6 Day, with outreach confined to the June 8 announcement/day--so we expect World IPv6 Launch to Top coverage includes articles from BBC News, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, ZDNet, Information Week, GigaOm and numerous international IDG publications including NetworkWorld, Computerworld and PCWorld, to name a few.

We are continuing our outreach through social media channels and gaining considerable traction through the @worldipv6launch Twitter feeds and on Facebookathttp://www.facebook.com/worldipv6launch. Beginning just after midnight UTC on 6 June itself, we will be promoting a 24-hour drumbeat of video contributions from World IPv6 Launch Participants, Chapters, and other Internet community organizations on the World IPv6 Launch YouTube channel at:http://www.youtube.com/worldipv6launch

Remember, World IPv6 Launch will represent a *permanent* step forward to ensure the Internet can connect *all* the people in the world--but it's a beginning, not an end. We look forward to continuing the journey towards universal deployment of IPv6 together with you.

Leslie.
