I fully agree with Veni comments.
If 100 ISOC chapter delegates attend, this is only amounts to about USD15K.
This is a relatively small amount when compared to the amount going to be spent for flights, hotel accomendations and per diem for ISOC staff and chapter delegates that will be attending this auspicious ISOC event.
As chapter leaders we are all volunteers, where we have to balance our time with work, family and life.
And also the hardest job as chapter leaders is to increase the percentage/number of volunteers within our existing chapter membership.
Ted's statement "I want to emphasize that I personally and the Internet Society officers and staff have the greatest respect for our Chapters and the outstanding work you do, much of which we hope to showcase and honor at the Global Chapter Workshop (GCW), the Global INET and throughout our year of celebration" should now translate from mere words to actual respect ie provide FREE all events/dinners and etc to ISOC chapters selected participants.
