hi Ed, All,
Thanks for the great suggestions! We would be delighted, if Chapters
would undertake activities locally to help celebrate the 20th
anniversary of the Internet Society.
One way to do this is to offer streaming of the event and act as a
remote hub, although we recognise that this does not work well with
across all the timezones. Equally, we would like to give strong
encouragement to Chapters who wish to celebrate with special events in
their country or region. To help support this, the Event Funding
money (USD 2,000) is available http://www.internetsociety.org/program-homepage
and can be applied for as usual. In addition, we are making an
extra USD 1,000 available to Chapters who wish to celebrate the 20th
Anniversary with an event or series of linked smaller events. It can
be applied for as part of the Event Funding money at the URL above.
We would love to hear and publicise the activities and events that
Chapters are planning in order to celebrate the anniversary. One
thought might be to add a group on this topic to the Chapters
collaboration platform that you are experimenting with at: http://www.anuntul.eu/wordpress/
and to share ideas within the group. I myself joined a number of
groups...(I hope you dont mind!).
We are also in the process of finalising the feedback from the EU
chapter workshop to share with participants.
Best wishes
Anne
