[Chapter-delegates] INET registration

Hi.

I guess I will bring somewhat different note here - and I beg your
pardon if it is not according to the general good feelings on that topic.

I am really surprised to find out that the participation at INET for
ISOC members is paid!

And is so expensive?

I see that the participation at the global chapter workshop is also
included in the price. I was thinking to come for that one, and due to
conflicting schedule, to miss the INET itself, but with the price tag,
even if I didn't have conflict, I still would not like to take the
chance and pay for participation so early, when it is not clear who will
be the speakers.

ISOC could and should do much better, ESPECIALLY for its members. With a
budget in the tens of millions of USD, it just doesn't make sense to
charge for participation. Tell me that the participation fee is not
because the management of the conference is being done outside of ISOC?

Also, has someone thought that the price difference between members of
ISOC and non-members is CHF 250, and that means that in a way, ISOC is
saying that while joining ISOC is free, it actually costs CHF 250? It is
as if ISOC tells people that they could join ISOC for free, but in fact
it offers them CHF 250 to do so...

Best,
Veni
