Barbara Van Schewick’s talk was based on her book Internet
Architecture and Innovation. Van Schewick, after giving a thorough
outline of the principles that allowed innovation on the open Internet
to flourish, suggests that for its continued generation regulation may
be required that puts the reins of any blocking, discrimination,
and/or access controls firmly in the hands of the users not the
providers.
