[Chapter-delegates] Application to form a Chapter in Trinidad and Tobago

Dear Colleagues,

The following application for a Chapter in Trinidad and Tobago has been 
received. It is being sent to this list for peer comment and review.

Please note that the Chapter is not yet formed and has not officially 
been recognised by ISOC.

If there are people on this list that know the individuals proposing to 
establish the Chapter, feedback is especially welcome.

The period allowed for comments is two weeks and the deadline is 
November 18, 2010.

*Chapter Application*

               A. Proposed name of the Chapter

       Trinidad and Tobago Internet Society Chapter

               B. Community of Interest the Chapter will serve

       Members of Trinidad and Tobago

               C. Purpose and Scope of Chapter

       The purpose of ISOCTT is to-
       (a) serve the needs and interests of the local Internet community
       in the context of Internet evolution particularly in education,
       Internet infrastructure development,
       Internet standards and experimentation, public policies and
       regulatory co-ordination regarding Internet content and services,
       and contributing to Internet governance;
       (b) promote activities consistent with ISOC's purposes in Trinidad
       and Tobago; and
       (c) generally encourage the above objectives through projects and
       initiatives to increase awareness and local participation.
       This purpose is best served under the supervision of a Chapter.

               F. List of Requirements

       Internet Society Chapter shall be incorporated in Trinidad and
       Tobago as a non-profit company under the Companies Act of Trinidad
       and Tobago and shall hold all financial accounts and be liable and
       responsible to the Trinidad and Tobago’s Companies Registry
       and Board of Inland Revenue as a separate and independent entity.

       G. Additional Information
       We previously submitted draft ISOCTT bylaws to Mr. Sebastian
       Bellagamba (Regional Bureau Manager for Latin America) in November
       2009 for his approval. We are happy to forward our updated draft
       ISOCTT bylaws and organisational chart for your kind attention
       and consideration.
