Bill, first let me say that I concur with the
suggestions of Christopher. I think that the role
of the chapters should be outlined more,
connected to the fact that they demonstrate that
ISOC is a real global structure that has a
central coordination but also a global reach able
to spread the understanding of the Internet
ecosystem in all the regions of the world. This
is a precious "internal" asset in the direction
of the enheanced cooperation, also considering
that the ISOC chapters normally provide
information to the Local Internet Communities on
the initiatives of the other international and
even intergovernmental organizations that have a
say in the Internet Governance.
Other organizations like ICANN do not have the
equivalent of the chapters; they have the
internal ALAC and the ALOS where the chapters
have a relevant participation.
Another point I suggest is to stress is
mentioning specifically the number of
institutions with which ISOC express the
"external" enhanced cooperation. I have in mind
participations of ISOC in ITU working groups, in
UNESCO activities, in OCSE, etc. It would be
better to mention specific examples.
