[Apologies for duplicates]
Dear Colleagues,
As a follow up to both Joly's and Hans Peters very helpful comments
about the AMS, I would like to expand on a couple of things as
important follow up:
1. Support guides and training
I have put on to the Chapter wiki the various AMS supporting
documentation (login is required to the wiki). There are 4 documents
you may be interested in:
* An ISOC members guide to the portal - please feel free to put this
on your website for your members
* An overview of the ISOC AMS - this contains information more
oriented to Chapter Officers
* A Chapter Officer "Go Live" document - information on how to manage
your membership data
* Updated instruction document for synchronising Chapters membership
data
The above documents be found at: http://wiki.chapters.isoc.org/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?galleryId=9
(or at http://tinyurl.com/ydygvat). PLEASE NOTE - that a login is
required to the wiki. I have also attached the PDF documents to this
email.
2. Chapter Members Data synchronisation - deadline for financial
incentive EXTENDED to June 30, 2010
Joly made mention below of the importance and need to reconcile the
various sources of membership data. We recognise that the work to do
this may impose an additional burden on our volunteer leaders so at
the end of 2009 we made a financial offer to help Chapters with this
task. That offer had a deadline of December 31st. A number of
Chapters were successful in synchronising their data (and
congratulations goes to the Bulgaria Chapter who were first!). However
many Chapters have not yet started this work so we are extending the
deadline to June 30th 2010. The offer is detailed in full at:
http://elists.isoc.org/pipermail/chapter-delegates/2009-December/005640.html
.
The instructions for the data upload have been updated in the attached
pdf and on the wiki page. PLEASE NOTE - In the earlier email, I made
an error so to be clear, the amounts are:
* USD $500 for up to 250 members returned and uploaded into the AMS;
* USD $1000 for over 250 members and up to 500 members returned and
uploaded into AMS;
* USD $2000 for over 500 members returned and uploaded into AMS.
**Email addresses are required as a minimum for new or updated member
information.
With help from the Regional Bureau staff, we will be contacting
Chapter Officers individually and by region to see if you need help in
logging in to the AMS and to reconciling your Chapter membership
data. If you have any questions regarding the AMS, training or the
data incentive, please do not hesitate to send email to <ams-project at isoc.org
> or <chapter-support at isoc.org>.
Best wishes
Anne
On behalf of the AMS and Chapter support teams
