Franck,
your comment is so unfair and out of touch that I hope you do NOT retract
it. It is easier to attribute it to lack of sleep or something like that.
The Board of Trustees - and mind you, not only the chapters-elected
Trustees - have a continuously increasing attention to the goings-on of
chapters (and we all know we are far from perfect.)
It is incumbent on all to continue to increase the value instead of
decrying a lack of recognition that may or may not be there, individually
and in the aggregate, and fix it more with action and results than words.
To Veni's comment: every one of us who has access to communications with
our governments is using it (I hope.) After today's chilling session in
the UN we definitely need to step up that effort. I think that it would be
wrong on many counts for ISOC HQ - Board, staff, or combination - to act
as a global political party issuing calls for action to the chapters. That
would actually be contrary to our bottom-up, edge-inward view of
autonomous chapters coming together in a coordinated way to build up ISOC,
wouldn't it?
Yours,
Alejandro Pisanty

Sphere project was started, but after 3-4 years it only looks like to have been a smoke screen to keep the Chapters happy and not interfering with ISOC management.
