Dear Colleagues,
Over the past few weeks I have been working closely with Robin Loan
(the new Consultant on the Sphere Project) to develop a draft outline
for the Chapters face to face meeting in Mexico.
The aim of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for peer-to-peer
collaboration to enable progressive actions to arise out of project
group discussions. The day will be focussed around small group work
and the workshop has been designed to foster an appreciation of each
other and stimulate focused dialogue.
We will document the meeting discussions and outcomes and will make
them available to all Chapters delegates so that everyone has the
opportunity to participate in the follow up project work that
emerges. As the focus is on small group work and discussion,
Powerpoint presentations will not be used. A meeting "pack" will be
available to attendees however which will contain material relevant to
the sessions and all the information will also be archived on-line.
The content has been designed to be flexible and can be modified
according to participant interest on the day. The draft outline is
posted on the Chapter wiki (chapter login is required) and ISOC
website at: .

CONTENT CONTRIBUTIONS
Anyone with content to share or who is interested in a session, please
email <chapter-support at isoc.org> and it will be added to the table on
the wiki at the above URL. We are specifically looking for chapter
leaders with experience in one or more of the topic areas that can be
shared with other chapter delegates. We are also looking for
discussion to emerge regarding potential collaborative projects and
working together. I have put up the names of some people with whom I
have had earlier conversations, and who are interested in contributing.
CONTINUED DISCUSSIONS
Robin Loan <rloan at bigpond.com.au> will be available the entire week to
facilitate additional Sphere project follow up group work, and/or for
one-on-one discussions with Chapter delegates. For those interested
in particular topics or themes related to Sphere, or raising matters
for further discussion there will be several opportunities during the
ICANN meeting week to do so. More information about the Sphere
Project can be found at:

DINNER
There will be a dinner at the end of the day for participants.
Alejandro Pisanty is kindly helping us with finding a restaurant. We
need to know if you have any special catering requirements. Please
email <chapter-support at isoc.org>. If you are UNABLE to attend the
dinner, please let us know.
TRAVEL FELLOWSHIPS
ISOC will shortly be announcing a new travel fellowship programme.
This is being trailed for this meeting, where ISOC is making full
travel fellowships available to Chapter leaders in the LAC region.
REIMBURSEMENT (ALS Summit Attendees and ICANN attendees)
Details regarding reimbursements for the additional travel and
accommodation costs incurred will be sent in a separate email to those
concerned next week.
We look forward to seeing you in Mexico. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to email us on or off list <chapter-support at isoc.org

Best wishes
Anne
