[Chapter-delegates] Alternatives for attending ICANN and other meetings

I apologize if this is the wrong forum to pose this question but I assume
that other ISOC delegates have or will encounter similar issues and that
some here may have information that could be helpful to more than just me.
Having said that, my question is regarding assistance or sponsorship of some
fashion or another to reach and participate in the ICANN meetings. The
Colorado chapter is very new and does not even collect any dues at this time
and thus has no means to send someone to ICANN meetings. My primary
employer is based only in the US and does not at this time have enough
interest to send anyone to ICANN. Finally, the company that I own nor I
personally have the resources available to travel to the ICANN or other
international meetings. What are the options for someone in a similar
position to mine for getting to ICANN or other such meetings? I am of
course working to get my employer more interested etc. but I wonder if there
are other means available to someone who wishes to participate? So far I
just do so remotely but this is obviously quite limiting. Any feedback is
much appreciated.
Thank you.
~Chris
