On November 17, 2008 the Nominations Committee issued a call for 
nominations to the Society for the 2009 Board of Trustees elections. 
Nominations are being accepting until December 16. If you know of 
someone who would be interested, please review the call for nominations

Call for Nominations for the Internet Society Board of Trustees
Deadline: December 16, 2008

The Nominations Committee is currently accepting nominations for the 
ISOC Board of Trustees which has three positions that open for election 
in 2009. Two Trustees will be elected by ISOC Organizational Members and 
one by ISOC Chapters. The Trustee positions are 3-year terms that start 
June 2009 and expire June 2012.

Candidates for ISOC Trustee should have demonstrable involvement in the 
Internet, particularly in the areas of standards, public policy or 
education. Ideally, candidates should have understanding of technology, 
policy, business and/or economics.

The following qualifications are also highly desirable:
* Organizational leadership experience, including Board experience;
* Skills in business management and leadership;
* Ability to raise funds for not-for-profit organizations;
* Non-for-profit experience;
* The ability to identify relevant ISOC projects and obtain funds or 
other resources to accomplish them;
* Vision for the role of the Internet Society.

Candidates must be active members of the Internet Society or be willing 
to seek membership in the Internet Society.

Nominations are due 16 December, 2008 and should be sent to the 
Nominations Committee using the web form at

Self-nominations, agreed nominations and suggestions are all welcome. 
Please be sure to include a Statement of Interest and a Resume or 
one-page narrative Bio. Please indicate whether you consider the nominee 
a candidate to be elected by the Organizational Members, the Chapters or 
both.
