Dear Vint and Bob,

We at the South African chapter of the Internet Society applaud you 
both. You changed the world with the Internet Protocol, the Internet 
Society and the IETF. The bottom end of Africa is physically very far 
from the world's centres of power and we have keenly felt both our 
geographical and our cultural isolation at times. The Internet can't 
solve those problems, but it has enabled us to make a very good start. 
Most North Americans probably take for granted what the Internet means 
in their lives; we still see it changing people's lives for the better, 
every day.
