[chapter-delegates] Hosting Request - A PROPOSAL

Jim.

No. I keep hearing over and over and over again.
"We're already ahead of you..." (below)

Frankly, I am past tired hearing that from ISOC.

My wife will be arriving home from work in another
20 minutes and we will be going out to dinner. She
had a hard day today, and I plan to take her out
for a quiet supper.

I will not have desert, and will not have coffee.
That will save the US$6.00 that can pay for hosting
for ISOC Ecuador for two months. If I skip that
desert and coffee six times in the next year, that
will pay for a year's hosting at a first-rate hosting
company.

When I come home from supper, I will make the offer
to ISOC Ecuador to pay for their hosting for the next
year. I hope the chapter will accept, because that
will be more pleasure for me than the desert and
coffee.

PLEASE consider abandoning the Hq. effort to develop
an internal web hosting service, templates, update
facilities, etc. etc. That can be purchased very
cheaply. It will be reliable. It will be open.
It can be contracted for and implemented immediately.
The last thing chapters want is a template created
by ISOC Hq.

This way of thinking that everything must be done
in the Wiehle Avenue building is a serious flaw in
ISOC Hq. thinking.

If you wish to discuss this privately, my phone
number is +1 703-433-2081.
