And satellite.  And enterprise vs. backbone.

As soon as this comms tech has to deal with extensive diversity AND with 
very high reliability (and performance) it needs to be a /independent/ 
infrastructure mechanism.

Within-host is fine, for servicing leaf nodes.  But not for 
infrastructure service.
