I remember giving a talk about UUCP at one of the workshops organized by Randy/George, I believe it was in Prague during our ISOC meeting.
During those days 9600bps was high speed for Latin America :-)
There was a series of articles written by John Quarterman, Larry was helping to launch ISOC Chapters and also keeping a list of connectivity status in the region.
Was it George “contrabanding” modems to help people get connected?
I gave a presentation about ISOC in Buenos Aires in the early 90’s, Tony sent me the slides and I translated them to Spanish. I may have a copy somewhere.
