And loose source routing became infeasible quickly as it provided return routability to packets with spoofed source addresses (creating a big hole for people that used IP addresses as authenticators), so people switched it off at as many places as possible.
Did anyone do a writeup that summarizes the major events in the 1990s that killed IP source routing?
