1. the "LOgin" incident was a minor bug and does not really deserve the
attention it gets in this rendering.
2. Arpanet was a predecessor to the Internet but it was not the Internet.
It was one of the three original networks of the Internet (which included
the Mobile Packet Radio Network in the Bay area and the Packet Satellite
Network linking the Eastern US to Western Europe. It was, however a key
scaffold that allowed extensive testing of the TCP/IP protocols that
enabled the Internet.
