If it is, it isn't anywhere that matters.  There are plenty of
trademarks that include the word "Internet" with other words or
symbols, but not of the word alone.  Copyright of a single word
makes no sense.

I would prefer to keep the distinction between global Internet and
private internet, but that battle is lost and not worth refighting.
