Since we're already in the weeds: I find it more desirable (as a 
recipient of mail when people reply-all to threads I have contributed 
to) if they don't trim my name from the explicit cc list. It allows me 
to distinguish real-time, I'm-watching-this threads from read-later, 
I-don't-have-time-right-now threads easily.

I'm not suggesting that anybody's viewpoint is less valid than anybody 
else's, just observing that one size doesn't necessarily fit all.
