Dear Chapter Delegates,
Thilina here from the Internet Society Norway Chapter.
I am standing again for the Chapters Advisory Council Steering Committee
for 2027, and I would be grateful for your support.
Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to serve on the Steering
Committee and contribute to initiatives including the IGF initiatives, the
Chapter Archival Project, the Code of Conduct renewal, and the mentorship
programme. I would very much like to continue this work, see these
initiatives through, and contribute to the next set of priorities for our
chapter community.
I bring more than 15 years of experience in network engineering, research,
community building, and programme and people management. More importantly,
my experience in NOG and volunteer communities has reinforced my belief
that strong communities are built from the bottom up.
If re-elected, I would like to continue advocating for practical support
for chapters, including stronger regional collaboration, simpler and more
predictable funding processes, useful shared resources and toolkits, and
greater recognition of the volunteers whose time and effort make the
Internet Society community possible.
I see the Steering Committee role first and foremost as representing the
chapters and listening to what chapters need. If this approach resonates
with you, I would sincerely appreciate your vote, and, just as importantly,
your ideas and guidance for the year ahead.
Thank you for your support and for everything you do for our community.
Best regards,
Thilina Dhanushka Kalahe Pathirana
