I did a survey for the UK chapter October 2015. I used a free
tier at typeform. I've kept all the responses.
It was aimed at the ISOC list to get a sample of interests and
willingness to serve or develop activities. It generated c. 100
respondants to around 20 questions.
If I did one again.
Before doing one the leadership team need to be committed to taking
action. So ask questions on topics only if there is interest and
capacity to transact. Make it clear when asking for interest in topics
you want the respondants to indicate if they are interested in taking an
active or passive role.
Surveys have become over used for all sorts of marketing purposes which
introduces a weariness in getting a survey request in the inbox for many
people. So ask very few questions. Do so sparingly and be very clear why
and what the survey is intended to achieve.
I can't see the use case for paying the sort of regular subscription you
indicate. There are open tools incidentally.
