[Chapter-delegates] ISOC LIVE- One year out

Dear Internet Society colleagues,

On behalf of ISOC India Mumbai, we write to express our full and
heartfelt support for Joly MacFie, whose unwavering commitment to
livestreaming and documenting critical Internet governance events
through ISOC.LIVE has been a cornerstone of this community’s
transparency, inclusivity, and reach.

Joly’s contributions have profoundly impacted our chapter. From the
Internet Governance Praxis series to webinars on Women in Tech
Leadership and the recent Interplanetary Internet Race 2.0, his efforts
have ensured that our local work received international visibility and
engagement. For small but active chapters like ours, that support is
invaluable.

His work is not simply about broadcasting events. It is about building
bridges, preserving institutional memory, and enabling equitable access
to knowledge for communities around the world. He has made the global
Internet governance conversation more accessible to all—especially to
the Global South.

We were especially moved by the quote Joly recently shared from Thomas
Merton:

“Do not depend on the hope of results... In the end, it is the reality
of personal relationship that saves everything.”

Indeed, it is the relationships and community spirit that Joly nurtures
through ISOC.LIVE that have made a lasting impact. His livestreaming is
more than a technical service—it is an act of service to the mission of
ISOC and its global community.

We respectfully urge the Internet Society and ISOC Foundation to
recognize and renew support for ISOC.LIVE. Let us not allow this vital
initiative to disappear due to lack of funding, especially when it
uplifts the very values ISOC stands for.

To Joly: Thank you. Your dedication has elevated our work and inspired
our community. We hope you will continue. Know that ISOC India Mumbai
stands with you, and we are not alone.

Respectfully,

Nupur Vijh
President and Secretary
ISOC India Mumbai Chapter
