[Chapter-delegates] Global Encryption Day update

Dear Chapter Leaders, Colleagues,
We are just under one week away from Global Encryption Day<https://www.globalencryption.org/2024/07/global-encryption-day-2024/> (21 October), and I wanted to give updates on this year's main activities.

• First, a special invitation to attend this year's convening event, Encrypt Today to Safeguard Tomorrow: The Encryption Summit<https://events.zoom.us/ev/AoJeeIwDpZ1Kw6MtWuA6WUoxljX8rFSwSQa6yIAmsrz4z0YyR_HX~AgvFs7_VrDTYubhtf6cueTP7ILUnfVmUt4de2orTkYcRAyBxf-zN57qfrg>, which will feature speakers from around the globe to share their expertise on a wide range of encryption-focused topics. We would especially love to see you at Internet Society’s Encryption, The Guardian session, where we will dive into the role of encryption in keeping children safe online with some of our Internet Society partners and community members.

• Continuing the Internet Society’s tradition of giving mini-grants to sponsor events on or around Global Encryption Day, in 2024, we granted 50 organizations mini-grants of 1,500 USD each. ISOC’s community is particularly engaged in GED activities, with chapters, which are also GEC members, organizing events all around the world.
