Hi Carlos,
I'd like to speak from my personal experience and not wearing my hat as a
Member, of the Board of Trustees of ISOC.
>From my previous experience as a Chapter Leader, if you need to use or
subscribe to those tools, your chapter can make use of the Chapter Admin
funding if you don't want to use the benefits of your "Not-For-Profit"
status. On the flip side, most of the tools you mentioned in your email are
either open-source or free to use. However, you can take cost-cutting
measures by taking note of some advice below like we did.
ISOC Chapters are usually registered as not-for-profit in most cases in
different countries. This makes it easy to get tools like Canva, Google
Workspace, Microsoft 365 for free as most of those companies have a CSR to
support not-for-profit. So technically, each chapter can get these tools
for free at no cost that will affect your chapter funding. Please find
links to the tools below,
- *Microsoft: *https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/nonprofits/microsoft-365
- *Google: *
https://www.google.com/nonprofits/offerings/workspace/#!#workspace-pricing
- *Canva: *https://www.canva.com/canva-for-nonprofits/
- *Affinity: (An alternate to Photoshop) *
https://www.canva.com/newsroom/news/affinity-for-nonprofits-schools/
- *Zoom: *https://zoomcares.zoom.us/faqs/
I believe Moodle is open source and you don't have to pay for it. However,
you will need a web server and a technical person in your team to help you
set it up.
I hope the information and links are helpful not just to your chapters but
to other Chapters that would like to cut down cost of administration due to
current global inflation.
