Andrew's focus is limited to ISOC Staff events, which are few and far
between, hopefully becoming less so, and their money is on Zoom events as a
live platform. Could do worse!

To kind of agree with Andrew, what ISOC contracted me to do and what ISOC
LIVE actually did, and does, are pretty much orthogonal, but the one did
sustain the other, and I am indeed thankful that the support lasted as long
as it did. Hopefully, any future arrangement will be more rational, and
perhaps ISOC LIVE will open the doors to other pan-chapter projects.

But, to numbers, Vimeo reports, for calendar 2023, the main channel had 58k
views for 165k minutes. Some simulcasts that get shared do way higher live
numbers, and the Internet Archive aggregates views constantly, although it
takes time for them to register. Scroll down on
https://archive.org/details/@isoc_live and you'll see them adding up. In a
couple of weeks we have the HOPE conference, which has previously done a
million views! But, that's an outlier.

In some cases, with some Chapter events, it is true, viewership is not
large, but just being able to put up a quality syndicated public webcast is
valuable to their prestige. Similarly, the audience for Internet Policy
events is small but dedicated. Numbers are not the ultimate metric, there's
access, accessibility, and plain digital preservation.

BTW , thanks, everyone for your support, especially ISOC UK, ISOC PR, and,
of course ISOC-NY and Vint!

Please continue to submit your events at https://bit.ly/isocevents
