Thanks Cheryl. Of course, I know how ChAC works. It is my duty to
understand many of the intricacies of ISOC. That is why I dared to open a
discussion that would lead us to reflection.
We have a strategic planning that is the result of a very long and
productive discussion within the whole organization. We are talking about a
six year term, where we need to grow, strengthen, defend, and protect the
Internet; and we -as a system- usually act with immediate explanations and
justifications. After that, we usually pretend everything is normal.
Strategically, it is very un-strategic to pursue long term objectives upon
well time-spaced short-term actions.
We all love to hear that everything is working as well-oiled machinery, but
without self-questioning we tend to forget the important few things that
make a difference. The people -us, the ones mentioned in our 2030 Strategy-
need to act, if not it will become dead-letter well before 2030. Without
compromise the institution -ISOC- can not provide the appropriate focused
resources.
Sincerely,
Luis
PS I am switching to my gmail account as I don't get used to my 66499 name
in the sender field.
