My conclusion is based on the results. If a lot has been done, ISOC
would not let 10% of its staff go (of course, I can argue the other way
around, too, that e.g. if you haven't done what you have, there would be
20% of the staff gone). You are right, though, that...

Hence, my comment about proposals made way before you joined ISOC as the
CEO; if they (or others - we were not some kind of genius, just
practically speaking Trustees) were implemented, there would not be
"this situation".

This sounds positive, in the meantime highly qualified people from
around the world are let go, which is a big loss for ISOC and the global
Internet community. I have let people go (in my business years), and I
know how tough it is; in fact to me this was as difficult situation as
the one when an employee got injured in their normal way of work, and I
had to run to the emergency care to be sure they will treat them well.
While I don't know if it was as difficult decision for you, as it has
been for me, I am sure that many of the chapters leaders might have felt
like me, especially from countries in transition.
The people ISOC let go are people, who we know, good and decent
individuals, and we (at ISOC Bulgaria, but hopefully at other chapters,
too) feel sorry they are no longer with us.
