I thought that was what I was doing on this list. This list is supposed to be the mechanism to address the chapter delegates for the Internet Society. If there is something else you'd like me to do or some other group of people you think I need to address, please let me know what it is. If I have not articulated the situation clearly enough for you, please ask the questions that will allow me to try to clarify matters.
But to be clear, the necessity to secure additional funding annually is not merely about the public support test. That is a current tactical issue, but the more important issue is that the Internet is under attack and we need to defend it. A tiny Internet Society is totally outmatched in a world dominated by often well-meaning ideas that attack the Internet in the name of safety, security, or social cohesion. It is certainly outmatched by governments who are avowedly hostle to the Internet and want to replace it with a tidy utility that they control and that we have to consume like cable TV. Either we find the resources to meet this challenge, or there will be no Internet left to build, promote, or defend. That is the necessity.
