Dear all,
Thank you for your thoughts and questions concerning the new association management system (AMS) rollout. We are committed to delivering a solution with the features you need to effectively develop and administer your chapters and continue to advocate for the Internet. The final steps with the implementation are happening as we speak, and we look forward to sharing more details with all of you over the coming weeks.
We have responded to questions received so far, including those from Klaus, in the Chapter/SIG specific System Transition FAQ<https://isoc.box.com/s/d4zt053guc8dmsmbj0rq6sr5a2ure4mh>. Please bookmark this page as this is where we will continue to update with new information as it becomes available. If you have further questions beyond the FAQs, please email amshelp at isoc.org<mailto:amshelp at isoc.org>.
We are looking forward to navigating this transition together with all of you in view of a much better experience for the community.
Best,
Andre Copelin

Dear chapter admins,
we heard this song before - we will exchange the system and everything will be good. And it went worse - nearly ever - ...
We are told (pure marketing blah):
"We want to put better tools into the hands of the people who need them in order to work effectively in support of our mission as advocates for the Internet for everyone. It is also about ensuring a greater degree of agility in being able to scale and adapt to change in future years, as needed."
So what was improved? We learn about the technology:
"The changes we are making will mean that we can better meet the needs of our staff and community now and in the future. For example, we seek to improve the chapter evaluation process, making it easier for you to complete. We will improve the dashboard reporting capabilities to give you data-driven insights into your membership. Chapters will have the option of sending transactional e-mail communications to all their members and promotional e-mails if they’ve explicitly consented. And we are seeking to address some of the gaps to make the member join process easier for both a potential member to complete and the chapter/SIG officers to manage. Overall, the member experience will be more user-friendly as we transition to more advanced and widely recognized technology."
Thank you for this in depth technical information. And there will be even more:
"User training sessions will be held in the first two weeks of June to help you familiarize yourself with the new AMS Portal. We will share more details soon."
Reason to be concerned? Many of us are IT ops or admins since years. We don't need to "familiarize" we need docs - aka manuals, specifications, ... you name it - to adopt our local systems, processes and interfaces. Since I asked for docs before with no response - I wonder if they exist at all.
Btw.: what happened to the AMS requirements that were collected - with big questionnaires and quite some effort - Oct 2021? Did they make their way into the requirement specification for the new system or rather into trash? (Yes, I asked this before and - sure - I'm getting used to receiving no answer.)
Best regards
Klaus
PS.: Yes I saw Please add them here<https://isoc.box.com/s/z90f81aigl3hdz1lam2vm1hfsdniz21q>. But https://isoc.app.box.com/ doesn't accept my ISOC credentials and also refuses to send me an E-Mail to reset my PW. 🙁

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to report that we’re getting very close to transitioning to our new Association Management System (AMS). As is the case with any significant system transition, this will come with a short system downtime in mid-June.
Please mark your calendars with these important dates and plan your activities accordingly:
* 15-30 June: System Downtime:
During that time, you will not be able to access, log into, communicate via, or otherwise use the following systems as we transition user accounts:
* Chapter Portal (AMS/MemberNova). This includes the sending of messages.
* Connect (including the Connect community groups and the related e-mail communications functionality)
* Docebo (the Learning at ISOC platform)
* Fluxx (the Internet Society Foundation’s Grant system)
Therefore, please avoid activities that rely on the above systems between 15 and 30 June 2023!
User acceptance testing with staff and a group of community representatives as well as training will take place in June.
The new system will then be up and running again as of 1 July 2023.
In the meantime, please make sure you have read the AMS transition FAQ<https://isoc.box.com/s/d4zt053guc8dmsmbj0rq6sr5a2ure4mh>.
Do you have questions that are not answered in the document above? Please add them here<https://isoc.box.com/s/z90f81aigl3hdz1lam2vm1hfsdniz21q> so we can work on getting the answer for you. Thanks!
We look forward to delivering our improved systems and tools, so we can all work more effectively and efficiently to support an Internet for everyone.
Best,
Christine
