Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to share that the McCourt Institute has launched its annual
grants process with Georgetown University. This is the second year of our
funding of technologists, ethicists, legal scholars and social scientists
around ethical technologies and in particular the role of social media in
today’s culture.

I wanted to bring this to your attention because this year, Georgetown will
be opening the grants process to include collaboration with civil society,
governments, NGOs and partner academic institutions. To be clear, all
grants must have a Georgetown faculty member as the PI, but Georgetown
faculty are allowed to – and in fact the proposals will be scored based on
the ability to – collaborate with outside groups to drive innovation and
change. The goal is to support *actionable research for better governance
of social media*.

Please see below from Georgetown University for more information on this
process, and please don't hesitate to contact Christian.Tom at mccourt.com or
myself for any questions you might have.
