Dear all,

I’m forwarding the note below on behalf of Ruben Brave from the Internet Society Netherlands Chapter:

Thank you for organizing this Christine. It was a very lively and interesting session.

This also might be of interest to those following the debate

In preparation for a data sprint with the University of Amsterdam, Michael Dieter has been keeping track of changes to platform policies. His document concerning Platform Geopolitics was initially published in the Tactical Media Room, a new signal group that was initiated by de Waag, Institute of Network Cultures and Freedom Internet to build a “network to support independent media in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.” Michael’s overview effort provides a captivating perspective on recent developments for all who are interested in having an informed debate about the current developments in internet governance.

Dear Colleagues,

As you may have read in Andrew Sullivan’s recent blog post on "Why the World Must Resist Calls to Undermine the Internet<https://www.internetsociety.org/blog/2022/03/why-the-world-must-resist-calls-to-undermine-the-internet/>" (also available in French<https://www.internetsociety.org/fr/blog/2022/03/pourquoi-la-communaute-internationale-doit-resister-aux-appels-a-compromettre-linternet/> and in Spanish<https://www.internetsociety.org/es/blog/2022/03/por-que-el-mundo-debe-resistir-a-los-llamamientos-para-socavar-internet/>), we at the Internet Society are very concerned about the current threats the Internet is facing.

We would like to get together with those of you interested for a call on Thursday this week (17 March, 13:00 UTC) to discuss the most recent issues identified that are likely to have an impact on the Internet as we know it.

This will also be an opportunity to talk to you about the next steps that we plan in this context and discuss how we can best take some of these steps together.

If you plan to join the call on Thursday, 17 March, 13:00 UTC, please register here: https://isoc.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJckceyppzojHdGI18bGPTzYJhTGTAUOnuzQ

You will then get a calendar invite and the call details once you registered. Simultaneous interpretation will be available in French and Spanish.

We realise there is a lot going on this week already, but given the timeliness of this topic, we prefer to organise this as soon as possible.

Best,

Christine
