Dear Chapter Leaders,
The 2021 ISOC Board of Trustees elections have begun!
Electronic ballots were emailed today to all voting delegates. They
will have until Friday, 23 April at 15:00 UTC to cast their ballots.
In this year's election cycle ISOC Chapters are asked to elect one (1)
trustee to the board. The winning candidate will serve a three-year
term commencing in July 2021.
Separately, the Board, acting pursuant to its authority under Article
II, Section 1(d), has announced its intention to offer the runner-up
in the Chapters Election a one-year appointment as trustee. This will
restore the board to its usual complement of 12 voting members
comprised of equal numbers from all three communities: Chapters,
Organizational Members and the IETF. The number of voting members fell
to 11 when Olga Cavalli recently resigned with one year remaining in
her term.
Additional details on the elections can be found
here:https://www.internetsociety.org/board-of-trustees/elections/
As previously announced, today also marks the close of the Chapters
Candidate Forum. Links to biographical summaries provided by all the
candidates remain available online
at:https://www.internetsociety.org/board-of-trustees/elections/2021/nominees/
We encourage you to engage with your Chapter's voting delegate on the
choices this election presents. If you do not know who the voting
delegate for your Chapter is, do not hesitate to contact Stine
Philipsen, ISOC Chapters and Individual Members Coordinator
(philipsen at isoc.org).
Best regards,
Mrs. N. Maimouna Diop
2021 Elections Committee Chair
