Dear Internet Society Chapter leaders,

This is a quick reminder that the voting for the Internet Society Board of Trustees elections will start on Friday this week (9 April 2021). On that date, a ballot will be sent to each voting delegate (by default the Chapter chair/president, unless a separate voting delegate was designated by the Chapter).

If you do not know who the voting delegate for your Chapter is, please contact Stine Philipsen, Internet Society Chapters and Individual Members Coordinator (philipsen at isoc.org<mailto:philipsen at isoc.org>).

In this year's election cycle, Chapter voters are asked to elect one trustee.

Separately, the Board, acting pursuant to its authority under Article II, Section 1(d), has announced its intention to offer the runner-up in the Chapters Election a one-year appointment as trustee. This will restore the board to its usual complement of 12 voting members comprised of equal numbers from all three communities: Chapters, organization members, and the IETF. The number of voting members fell to 11 when Olga Cavalli resigned with one year remaining in her term.

The Chapter candidates are:

  *   Leiska Evanson<https://www.internetsociety.org/author/evanson/>
  *   Luis Martinez<https://www.internetsociety.org/author/Martinez/>
  *   Glenn Carl McKnight<https://www.internetsociety.org/author/mcknight/>
  *   Rao Naveed Bin Rais<https://www.internetsociety.org/author/binrais/>
  *   Muhammad Shabbir<https://www.internetsociety.org/author/shabbir/>
  *   Niels ten Oever<https://www.internetsociety.org/author/tenoever/>

Please find here a flyer<https://isoc.box.com/s/l5i1yjrai49a2ebv1lghn2r51dibv7ws> which highlights the value and process of casting your vote.

Voting in these elections is a very important benefit of your membership. By casting your vote, you:

  * Influence the direction and priorities of the Internet Society, as well as the Internet Society Foundation.
  * Elect dedicated, qualified Board members who are passionate about the Internet, and who support our shared mission to build and strengthen this valuable resource for everyone.

Voting delegates will have until 23 April 2021, 15:00 UTC, to cast their ballots.

All the best,

Christine
