[Chapter-delegates] ISOC-CH statement on weakening encryption

Hi Richard,
This is a great statement and thank you to the Swiss chapter’s work advocating for encryption in Europe. And it is also great to see the Dutch chapter jumping in as well!
The leaked documents from the EU do seem to indicate a concerning shift in the European Commission’s policy towards encryption. As the Swiss Chapter points out in their statement, there is no way to make a door to let the good guys in while also keeping the bad guys out. Any encryption backdoor is an intentional security vulnerability.
If people are looking for more resources to use in encryption advocacy, please see the resources section on the ISOC encryption page: https://www.internetsociety.org/encryption/internet-community-stands-up-for-encryption/ The Internet Society has put together a number of factsheets and guides to explain specific attacks on encryption and the importance of encryption to vulnerable communities.
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Ryan Polk

Hi Richard,
Excellent statement, can we as the Dutch Chapter use it to advance this position locally, with a reference to ISOC CH of course?
Met vriendelijke groet,
Kind regards
