I am now in the position to give you slightly more information than the above.

Ethos has agreed in principle to make binding commitments as part of
the .ORG registry agreement on the issues of price stability, the
Stewardship Council, protections of registrations against arbitrary
takedowns and surveillance, a fund to support ongoing community work,
and reporting on the effectiveness of the measures.  These measures
will be enforceable by ICANN and the interested community.  I can't
provide you with the details yet because we are still ironing out some
wrinkles, but the substance of these commitments is all agreed.

I am also expecting PIR soon to grant a short extension to ICANN in
order to consider such new information as ICANN receives.

I hope you can see why Gonzalo believed this information could be
relevant to the discussion he hopes you will be joining, such that we
thought it would be important to delay that session.
