+1, Steve.
I'd also add, that George is active in the DC chapter, and is an ongoing
support for the Bulgarian chapter, as well. He served 10 years on the
Bulgarian President's IT advisory committee (2002-2012), and as director
of the Global Internet Policy Initiative, he helped my country to
achieve one of the most Internet-friendly legislation on the planet. I
also served with him on the ISOC Board in the yearly 2000s, and found
him among the most progressive members, understanding very well the
value of the chapters for ISOC.
I can also say I had a petition campaign in 2004, and managed to get
elected for a second term thanks to the chapters!
I'd just kindly remind the people, the chapter leaders, who support
George petition to do it not (only) on this list, but to send an email
as per his description - to
petition.candidate1 at elists.isoc.org
<mailto:petition.candidate1 at elists.isoc.org>
Note what the original email says,
"Only emails from ISOC Chapter voting delegates (usually the Chapter
chair or president) will be valid for my petition, and these emails must:
1. come directly from the Voting Delegate via his or her email
address of record with ISOC;
2. include the name of the petition supporter’s Chapter, and;
3. include the name of the person whose petition is being supported
(i.e. my name)."
