Thankyou Joly!

The NetThing / Australian Internet Community Forum held yesterday was an important
reboot for AU online governance, marking the restart of an AU IGF after a few years
absent.
Internet Australia, along with Electronic Frontiers Australia, Linux Australia, Access
Now (civil society) , APNIC and auDA (our IP address and domain name management
bodies) , government, universities formed the  Organising Committee to incubate the event.

Internet Australia is proud to form the 'Spiritual Home' for the NetThing, and
provides the corporate entity structure for the banking, insurance, tax affairs etc
necessary for an event of this type - from an administration sense, the NetThing /
auIGF is like a SIG of IA, but run separately.

We are also very grateful to ISOC APAC Bureau for assisting with a funding grant - the
global, regional and local arms of the Internet Society working together in
complementary ways to promote grass-roots IGF principles.

cheers,
Paul
