Subject: [Chapter-delegates] Independent Study Review: The economics of the security of consumer grade IoT products and services
Importance: High
Dear All,
Last year the Internet Society has commissioned external consultants for an independent study on the Economics of IoT Security, with a focus on consumer grade IoT devices and services, in line with the IoT Campaign, which is now ready for review.
The report titled “The economics of the security of consumer grade IoT products and services”
includes an overview of the consumer IoT market and the current state of security within the market, a discussion on the economic obstacles towards better consumer IoT security, followed by a taxonomy of mechanisms addressing these obstacles and recommendations on potential actions to be taken by multiple stakeholders to improve consumer IoT security.
We would like to invite you to preview the draft at: isoc.box.com/v/public-preview and to provide us with your valuable feedback, particularly regarding whether there are any missing points in the coverage of the issue. Please note that this in an independent study and not an official ISOC paper.
The review period will run until Tuesday, 28 March 2019. You can send your comments directly to me at unal at isoc.org.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Best Regards,
Ceren
